PR Coordinator

The Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities at Michigan State University helps both students and employees empower themselves and become successful.

My job was to run the social media portion of the office, write the blog posts, take photos, design graphics, update and work on a Wordpress and do anything in between. I would also help set up Facebook events, promote those through social media. I would also design monthly infographics for posts such as International Sign Language Day.

VIM Fashion Magazine

Print Photographer

VIM is a student-run fashion magazine on campus that creates digital editions every month and print editions once a semester.

While I worked for VIM I started as Photographers Assistant, so I would help print photographers on their print shoots and the digital editions were where the assistants had their photos published. I was then promoted to print photographer and had two big shoots in the spring print edition. One of my shoots took place in Detroit and was one of my favorites to shoot.

Spartan Newsroom

Multimedia Reporter

Spartan Newsroom provides news and information about campus and the surrounding Michigan State University community. Content is produced by students enrolled in classes at or participating in extracurricular clubs affiliated with Michigan State’s School of Journalism. The goal is to use the Spartan Newsroom to provide a public service to the community while giving hands-on lessons about journalism to students.

While I worked at Spartan Newsroom, I was a multimedia reporter tasked with covering the small community outside of Lansing called Williamston. During my time, I wrote about the community's thoughts on the new Michigan Marijuana bill, goat yoga and a couple making art to raise money for students in Haiti.

Finley Jewelry

PR & Marketing Intern

Finley is a jewelry start-up located right in downtown Toronto, ON. It is about a block away from "Toronto's Times Square." The jewelry company is known for being sustainable and ethical in it's practices. All of its pieces are made from gold or gold vermeil which makes them long-lasting.

When I worked for Finley I was their marketing/ PR intern. I worked there for two months on a study abroad through MSU. I worked on everything from Facebook ads, to email campaigns, to Instagram posts and to photography for their website.

The Pioneer

The Pioneer was an independent student magazine run by some students from The Oakland Post.

While I worked for The Pioneer, I did layout design, my own photography and wrote two stories. These are printed in an actual physical copy and located on Issuu.

Oakland Post

Photographer & Writer

The Oakland Post is the student-run newspaper for Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

I worked for the Oakland Post from August 2017 until April 2018. While I was there I started as a sports reporting intern. I then moved to the Life section as a staff reporter and often wrote stories for the campus section as well. We had a very small photo section so I would often take photos for my stories as well as my fellow reporters. My favorite was doing sports photography. Before I transferred universities, I was set up to be a section editor for the next school year. You can see my writing by clicking the button below and my photography to the right.
